StepxStep Math Tutoring was founded in 2003 by Genea Carson, a lifelong math enthusiast, educator, and proud believer that any student can succeed in math with the right approach.

For more than 20 years, Genea has worked one-on-one with over 800 students in the Springfield, Missouri area, helping them not only improve their grades—but completely change how they feel about math. Her results speak for themselves: 100% of students see increased scores in their math classes and on the ACT. Students who once believed they would never pass math did. Others, already strong but aiming higher, went on to achieve top academic honors—including valedictorian status.

Genea holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education and has over a decade of experience teaching within the school system, giving her a deep understanding of both curriculum standards and the real challenges students face in the classroom. She combines that academic expertise with a highly personalized 1:1 tutoring approach, tailoring every session to the student’s learning style, pace, and goals.
